At least add a toggle for appearance changes??

Since you're so concerned with accessibility apparently, the true answer to all these graphic changes would be to add options. The new white ping text doesn't distinguish itself as a ping for me, and the new "blurple" is far too vivid and painful on my eyes. Even here on the webpage I'm typing this on, vivid blue/purple on white will give me eye strain after any significant period. I will accept that this is maybe better for some people, but accessibility isn't a one size fits all model.

 

EDIT: more thoughts. I've used Slack before, and they allow you to customize the colour of basically everything. Even in a more limited way, this would go miles to improve accessibility and general contentedness.

  Reddit has a toggle for the old design, so I don't see why more websites have that as well.

  Agreed. More options for users is definitely the best way to go about this

  this new page i am typing on is straining my eyes as well. let us customise the app ourselves! at least give us some options!
