New Discord Is Truly Painful
The minor branding changes and logo, I don't mind those changing. But the new color is genuinely eye-searing. My eyes are very sensitive, so I appreciated the gentle neutral grey and soft purple of old discord. Now that this neon purple is being thrown at me everywhere in the UI, I sometimes have to squint to scroll through the members list of a server with a lot of bots. For the past few days, I've had a consistent pounding headache that only stops if I close Discord and avoid using it. Additionally, while I personally haven't had this issue, some of my friends with dyslexia have spoken about the font being difficult to read, and the formatting making things difficult to follow, especially the new highlighting. Discord didn't need to be "friendly." If y'all did this to suit your new audience (everyone who's been doing school or work online,) doesn't the more tame purple make more sense?? I'm truly baffled. This isn't just hating change, this is your program actually being painful.

I noticed that Discord replied to someone’s concerns about accessibility with a feedback form about this kind of issues. I filled it out already, so I hope others in do and share it with friends as well to let them know how inaccessible and garish the new colors, font, etc. are for users.
Link to their tweet about it: https://twitter.com/discord/status/1392869194413355009
Link to their Google form feedback itself: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdTzNbITTRx4BYWFlC3gi_lEi3D3rsa9VCBK_EphF5myDb7uw/viewformThey claim accessibility is taken very seriously, so let’s be sure to inform them of how difficult these new changes are for people.
