As a migraine sufferer, I'm considering moving platforms.
I suffer from frequent migraines, and although the update hasn't hit me yet on my devices, I'm afraid when it does I'll have to ditch Discord for a new platform.
Discord's old down-to-earth color scheme was not only charming, but it was also extremely accessible. I'd hate for me and so many of my friends with photo-sensitivity to have to drop a platform we all have genuine love for.

If you are looking for an alternative that's fairly similar to Discord, try out Element. It used to be called Riot. The default is light mode but you can change it to dark. I'm having trouble reading now, I have ADHD and sometimes I mix words up. Also their new logo makes me uneasy, it's really weird.

Unfortunately matrix doesn't yet support """servers""" (i f-ing hate calling it that... it's not a server, it's just a group of rooms and voice channels, dammit...) like discord, but it's soon to be implemented. When it does i'll surely leave discord once and for all

I noticed that Discord replied to someone’s concerns about accessibility with a feedback form! I filled it out already, so I hope others in do and share it with friends as well to let them know how inaccessible and garish the new colors, font, etc. are for users.
Link to their tweet about it: https://twitter.com/discord/status/1392869194413355009
Link to their Google form feedback itself: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdTzNbITTRx4BYWFlC3gi_lEi3D3rsa9VCBK_EphF5myDb7uw/viewformThey claim accessibility is taken very seriously, so let’s be sure to inform them of how difficult these new changes are for people.

You can make “servers” but it’s really complicated right now. Like…REALLY complicated.
