Physical Pain Caused by the New Blurple

The new Blurple is causing me intense eye pain and migraines. My eye starts twitching on pc at night even though I've always used a filter. I've had auto updates off for my samsung but it somehow changed and I can't use it for periods over 10 minutes. I've been voting for all similar posts because this is how Discord has said to provide feedback, but I now have an intense migraine and I've yet to see Discord respond.

    Have you tried dark mode? I find it much less eyestrain-inducing than the white-based theme.

    im honestly finding dark mode hard to use because of the insane contrast, it is really not worth it.

    Having the same experience. Initially thought the color change was a bug and submitted a ticket. Definitely need a softer color, as before.

    @nantes that's an off topic question. And I've been using discord's dark mode since I started using it in 2015. The white is worse on my eyes. The problem is the new blurple and white mentions.

    Fellow migraineur, same issue. My eyes are just rejecting the new colors, much like my brain rejects me.

    @Bayza then I'm confused. They only changed the logo and branding outside the app, there were no changes to the contrast in the UI itself when you're using the app. The colors within the app are still the same as they were for at least a year, at least on my device after updating it to the latest version 74.10. Even the Discord logo that shows up as the app is loading up, which I fully expected to change to the new Clyde design with the burple background, is still the same old chat bubble with the old Clyde inside it. So where does your complaint come from?

    I'm having the exact same problem. The new blurple is so saturated that I had to physically go in and change the icon (something I fortunately know is possible, but many do not) because it triggers the same migraine if I view it for too long that I get from excessive neons and blacklight colors, and I can't NOT look at it constantly in the bottom of my screen. Many communities I participate in have explicit rules to spoiler eye-straining colors. I am EXTREMELY concerned if this is the branding they intend to continue to use, everyone and their grandmother should know that eyestrain/eyeburn has no place in a widely-used interface.

    Update: There is no way to replace what it looks like in the hotbar while the app is open. It won't let you. I can change it on everything BUT the version I need replaced most. Kind of infuriated.
