Theme changing being allowed by the ToS (or an alternative that follows the rules)
So there is BetterDiscord, an addon to discord that is against the terms of service because of security issues apparently, but discord currently does not provide any alternatives to such
Specially with the new update, tons of users (including me) have trouble with the new colors (due to accesibility, they are eyestraining) plus many others that simply don't like how it looks aesthetically.
Discord needs either to let programs like BetterDiscord be allowed (and the risks of it being the user's problem if there IS a breach of their info through those third-party addons)
Or alternatively, to have a custom themes option but this would take a lot more programming on discord's behalf and seems pretty counterproductive having BetterDiscord already avaidable with themes made by people.
You can't please everyone with a single theme (because let's face it, dark/bright discord are only two very similar themes and those two cannot be liked by everyone), but letting people create new ones that fit their needs and desires would clearly make a lot more people happy while giving them the freedom of choice instead of having a new theme forced upon them with no way of choosing against it.
This could include fonts (like comic sans or similar for people with dislexia as myself that struggle with bigger texts), colors (for the eyestraining new blues or simply for aesthetic) and even icons (because personalized icons would be pretty, although that might be a bit too hard to implement)

Discord really needs to change its TOS to allow custom themes, especially if they're going to pull stuff like changing to this jarring font and color. I don't have a reading disability and even I'm having a hard time with it. Allowing clients like BetterDiscord could draw more people to the service too, or prevent people from moving away from it, and would be a lot more productive towards the accessibility thing they preach.

Exactly as maggiekarp said, clients like that draw people in (like on tumblr, where despite the website working in a rather questionable manner, the use of the xkit extension allowing people to customize their experience lets a TON of people stay with settings and themes they enjoy personally even if the site itself messes up something)
