The visual eye strain begins even before I open the app, as it stands out horrifically on my phone compared to all other colors. Then I get in the app and it highlights a big box around emojis such that those become the focus more than the message text it was a reaction to, combined with the new font, making me skip over words and confuse context and meanings The new update is a real strain on the eyes and mind and I think it’s going to make me have to break out eye drops again so I don’t get red eye from checking messages in a server for less than ten minutes. The new color scheme is highly uncomfortable, please change it back or at the least give an option to return to the previous colors.

  I noticed that Discord replied to someone’s concerns about accessibility with a feedback form about this kind of issues. I filled it out already, so I hope others in do and share it with friends as well to let them know how inaccessible and garish the new colors, font, etc. are for users.

  They claim accessibility is taken very seriously, so let’s be sure to inform them of how difficult these new changes are for people.
