Friends can't hear me when watching a stream, echo cancellation already off

Turning off echo cancellation used to get rid of the problem entirely. This is not the case anymore. Since I updated, the problem is back, even when echo cancellation is off. I've tried turning off every other setting and there's been no difference. Having to jump in and out of a stream to talk is getting pretty frustrating.

    I have the same issue. Last tuesday started this problem and it was solved the next day.. But a couple of days ago I started to have thie same problem again with chatting while I'm watching someone stream on discord. The only thing I can do is to use the discord web app which is so annoying to use because it depends on an internet browser.

    PD: I tried to change to experimental mode and setting off every single option in discord in order to find a difference. It seems to be a problem with voice attenuation because they can hear like far far far far (far far far..) away when I use "push to talk" (it only happens when I told them to try to hear me.. they set my voice level to max).

    I really hope Discord sees this because this has been a problem for half a damn week now. And this isn’t even remotely the first time this has happened!

    What’s even causing this? The literal second I enter a friends stream my microphone gets turned down so badly discord can’t even read it. I’ve even tried other microphones and literally every singe option in voice and video

    I just want a little communication about this issue

    I'm also having this issue, wish I could figure out why the web version works but the desktop version doesn't

    - mic doesn't pick up after joining someone's stream

    Same exact thing here: used to have this problem, turning off Echo Cancellation fixed it, no longer does. Works on the browser version but that isn't an acceptable compromise for me.

    Please unbreak this, Discord.

    I have had the same problem for a while now, i just stopped watching my friends stream but it is a bit annoying when everyone except me is watching a movie over stream...

    hope discord comes with a solution soon...

    Like OP, turning off echo cancellation used to work as a band-aid to the core of this issue. That no longer works either.

    I first encountered this issue right around when krisp was added. That thing has never worked.

    Discord devs will never ever fix this because they don't care. Carl above been having this issue for over a year. I now have to be in calls and servers with both the regular client and web client. 

    For anyone who comes onto this topic:

    Discord blows, there's way better out there but discord sadly is the standard. The devs keep adding up the issues when discord worked better in 2018 than it does now. Don't bother trying to find solutions or trying to contact discord support, it's useless. THEY WILL NEVER EXTEND A HAND TO THE COMMUNITY UNLESS IT BENEFITS THEIR PUBLIC RELATIONS.

    No, it was the full Discord Nitro, bought and paid for. Discord took my money and never fixed the bug.
