Hide option for Stage Discovery...
Please add an option to get rid of it from the main interface, all it is doing is taking up vertical real estate and pushing the DMs down (my main use of Discord is DMs). I have no interest in being in voice with a ton of random strangers, I would rather have the feature have an option to be out of sight, out of mind.
It really really opens the platform to troll those people.

THIS THREAD !! Discord is starting to become way too cluttered. I liked simple. Now it's not so simple. I want LESS since all I use discord for is texting with occasional voice chat.
Not to mention, forcing phone numbers to join stage discovery rooms is a joke. I will never give my phone number to you guys. Period ! If you force it, I will just quit using Discord. I am a C++ programmer and have already begun working on my own chat program, which is working, and it's all because discord has become a bloated mess.
So please add option to disable most of this crap off the interface. So I can shrink it down on my desktop.

I just spent the last several minutes looking through the settings, trying to find a way to hide or remove this. Failing that, I looked at the FAQs for Stage Discovery and Servers, but found nothing of use. I don't know anyone who would be interested in such a feature, and now I find myself accidentally opening it out of habit because Friends used to be the tab at the top of the list. At the very least, Stage Discovery should be moved below Friends or Nitro, though an option to never see it at all would be preferable.

It's ruined my muscle memory, for whenever I want to click 'Friends'. What even prioritizes it to be at the top?

Sameeeee. Its really obnoxious.
I've accidently keep going there out of habit of friends.. so I was toxic and joined some just to troll.
Maybe if that happens enough Discord will make some changes.11 -
When the Nitro button was added, I warned people where it would lead and got mass downvoted for it.
It's funny.
Discord doesn't actually read any of these forums though, it's a waste of time, much as I'd love to be able to kill the Stage Discovery tab. It's so obnoxious. Pretty soon I won't even be able to see my friends anymore, just stuff Discord shoves down my throat. And not the good kind of stuff down my throat, neither.

Yup, rudely presented this today and now even more of the menu is cut off by useless options.
The Nitro tab has been a useless duplicate of the subscription tab in options, along with the gift box in the chat input regardless of where we're typing being a useless distraction. Both there because $$$.
Now this stage discovery is even more useless.
Neither have a disable option, so I made one.
See look, that wasn't so hard.

I keep hoping one day people who develop software will all conform to some standard of "if option added then add option to disable", but rarely any ever do, to the bane of a portion of the userbase of every software that exists. We say minority, but many people just don't want to even bother going out of their way to complain on forums about it, so who knows how many people ACTUALLY are fine with changes. I don't, because my entire family hates anything that changes and almost everyone I know has problems with it (but many can adjust), so in my eyes, it's actually a majority. Even hosting a poll about changes won't be accurate unless it's literally inline in front of everyone's face when using the software, basically mandatory.. good luck finding a company that does that either.
Anyway, at least venting helps.. sort of.

Yes... PLEASE give us an option to hide things like Stage Discovery and Nitro. I have no interest in sitting in a lobby with random people or paying for Discord Nitro.
Also, why would they add it above the Friends tab? Muscle memory makes me click the top, which leads me to the useless STAGE DISCOVERY instead of my Friends list (where I wanted to go). I hate this change. If they're going to add a tab, at least give us the option to hide it or put it under the existing tabs (i.e. Friends/Nitro).
Discord is turning into Skype and we all know how repulsive that shit show is now.

They changed the order so "friends" is back on top, but still no option to HIDE the unwanted shit. Amazing, just wow......

Agreed, they put it on top, but still no HIDE. All it's doing it cluttering up the interface. They literally don't care about those who use it. I'm pouring more and more time into making a proper chat program of my own.
They might be laughing at my post now, but I'm determined now more then ever.

Even worse on mobile now smfh used to have recent mentions now i get to scroll through HOURS of conversation just to see who @ me can we please fix this or something really pissing me off

Yeahhh, they don't seem to care anymore, I cancelled Nitro on 2 accounts that had it, not paying for something I'm starting to hate.

The number of times my hand has slipped and I've accidentally joined some random stage is already in the double digits. It's incredibly annoying. It's gone to have discovery as an option, but either have an option to hide it, or don't put it in the main bar amount the bottom. It's obtrusive and prone to mis-taps

I usually don't get this hyperbolic, and on something small like this no less but in all honesty, whomsoever signed off on it replacing the mentions on the bottom bar needs to resign, because they suck at the job.
