Accessibility for users with DID / Pluralkit native integration
Hi. I'm one member of an active system of ~40 alters, with about 7 making up the core personalities. Right now, we all love using Discord (for the most part) as we have a strong support system of other plural folk that literally help get us through the day and keeps us from fading like Back to the Future, but there are problems.
The current extent of plural accessibility on Discord is restricted to PluralKit, a wonderful bot made and dutifully maintained by the best people on Earth. The bot handles such simple things as switching to denote which alter is in front, showing history, and making little pseudo-profiles so that alters can be easily told apart, as opposed to all melting into the main account. This is not the RP bot. That is what Tupper is meant to be used for.
As it is, however, as useful as PK can be, and despite how necessary it is, it's confusing, unintuitive, and liable to break after any single software update, which is a terrifying prospect for an accessibility tool I need to live at my fullest. It is a third-party bot, meaning that “stubborn” server owners find it very easy to simply say “sorry, no, we don't want viruses — so you can't be plural in this server.” I know this for a fact; at least three servers denied us in this way, alongside being completely banned from Discord for ‘spamming’ and other such discrimination.
I do not know how to fix this issue. I have been barking so far up the wrong tree I have a mouth full of leaves and I am praying that someone that can get this going sees this as I am tired of essentially lobbying for a decent way to use this singlet-based app. It would be great for Discord to have the first plural integration of any first-party social media app, really.
PK needs to be implemented or made native or simply absorbed into the code. I know that this is not easy, but neither can it be the most complicated thing in the world to copy and paste and proofread and edit and save, and you have a huge, huge userbase that is literally suffering because of this laziness. Please, please, please consider this. Thank you.
Attached are some pictures of me trying to use PK for simple stuff on the reg (switching takes less than a second in my head) and the minor annoyances that come along with it, including with our IRL Cheese.
(At the time, their little, Bunny, was in front, prompting Leon to help guide them. This is one of what is basically a daily occurrence.)
