Turning Off Auto Updates Won't Save You From The Horrible Update
Made a post earlier in the day advising people to turn off auto updates to avoid Discord's latest “tee-hee let's screw over people with migraines and people who hate drastic changes aren't we so cute? :)” stunt. Well, they forced it anyway, and just as my friends warned me, it hurts my head and is INFURIATING to use. I hate the stupid ‘swipe right to reply’ crap. How about you let me see the members list, like I always have? I want to know if people are online, not reply to channels I'm not apart of the conversation in - a major problem in roleplay servers. If you haven't already, cancel Nitro. If they aren't gonna listen to our feedback, maybe they'll listen to a loss of money. Let us turn it off. Also, PUT DMS BACK WHERE THEY WERE.

I’m dreading when it forces the update for me. I was warned of the migraines in time to rollback before they started. I have a chronic migraine disorder. It’s not pretty. As in “rushed to hospital during a pandemic because they thought I needed a spinal tap” kind of not pretty. I’ve already cancelled and if they force this I’ll actually have to leave for my own physical health.
I was also close-to-housebound and isolated for 5 years. Discord got me through that. I’m going to lose touch with so many friends if I leave and have to be isolated again. Which is really poor for my mental health.
It’s a catch 22 and I’m both sad and angry to be stuck in it whilst the people who could fix this for the many people complaining about it the negative effects on their health, sit with both thumbs up their backsides and claim to care.16 -
I was talking to someone in one of my chats about how I haven't gotten the update yet, and was enjoying it, and literally spoke of the devil and it forced the change. Holy hell is it awful.

I'm dreading the day my phone physically cannot update/handle discord anymore. It's an old phone and, tbh, already struggles with this app more than it should have to.
