Please allow for an option to switch back to the old theming; my friends cannot use Discord following the new update since this new theming doesn't accomodate for their accessibility needs.

Hi,

The new Discord mobile UI is controversial. I know that.

Honestly, as much as I prefer the old layout, I am willing to work with the new one.

What I deem unacceptable is the complete lack of consideration for those with visual impairments and visual accessibility needs.

This new update has rendered the Discord mobile client inaccessible and practically unusable for my closest of friends; this person is an IRL friend but since we are a little further apart we use Discord to voice/video call and play games on a daily basis.

This friend has an eye condition that makes the new theming being forced upon us in the mobile redesign painful and pretty much unusable.

The new theming options available are very contrasty and have either very dark backgrounds with bright text, or vice versa.

The old grey theming with its dark but much lighter grey background made this a non-issue; the background was light enough such that the UI was not overly contrasty and the bright white text did not clash against the background. The background remained dark enough to maintain clarity and legibility.

Please re-implement an option to switch to the old brighter grey dark theming, as is still seemingly present on desktop. 

This update has made it so I can no longer communicate with my closest friend.
I am heartbroken to find that this new redesign seems to have had no consideration whatsoever for people like my friend and many others who have visual accessibility needs, therefore can no longer use your platform to communicate with their social circles.

I have a severe eye condition myself, among other conditions, and while this condition does not seem to really impede my ability to process colours or handle contrasty imagery, I know what it feels like to be excluded by things like this. It's not nice.

Thank you. Here's hoping such an option is implemented so the mobile UI is accessible for us again.

    I hate how there’s no in between with the themes. I was just on the app for maybe 5 minutes and i have a pretty bad headache now. It’s just too dark of a background in contrast to the bright text. And the light mode is also a bright almost glowing background with dark text, not a good combo for the eyes.

    The font size was reduced, and the font was thinned, and the theming makes it difficult to read.  They need to fix this.
