Transgender Symbol with Variant Selector 16 incorrectly rejected

When PUTing a reaction of the Transgender Symbol emoji U+26A7, if variant selector 16 U+FE0F, which specifies emoji presentation, is included in the URI component then the request will be rejected with 10014: Unknown Emoji. It will be accepted if that selector is not included. This is in contrast to some other emoji, such as U+203C Double Exclamation Mark which will be accepted regardless of whether VS16 is included in the component or not.
