Windows 7 Support
Continue/readd Windows 7 support for Discord desktop client.

I think it was dropped due to old electron versions of the desktop client.
I suggest you update to a new os that is up to date with the latest security updates. Be it windows, linux, macos etc

blackwolfwoof No, it is being dropped due to microsoft forcing the issue through something called a depreciation policy. Microsoft is desperate to get people off Windows 7 because it doesn't use Microsoft's closed system: Chromium. Windows 7 is a vastly superior OS to win10 and avast+uBlock is more than you need to stay safe.

Found a post by discord staff talking about dropping win7

Sin Shadow Fox Also windows 7 was created 15 years ago and windows 10 9 years ago.
Its quite old and obviously doesn't get as many updates anymore if any. I am using Linux Mint, Debian 12 and Windows 11 to make sure i get the latest security patches.
If you want a stable operating system i suggest you have a look at linux, though windows has been quite stable for me for some time as i haven't had any issues in terms of updating, random crashes or freezes or other unexpected behavior.

blackwolfwoof Windows 7 doesn't get any updates from Microsoft anymore which only speaks in win7's favor given that it's still more stable and compatible than the OSs Microsoft IS still updating. That being said win7 users have already figured out how to give win7 the same things win10 has through kernel updates so not only is win7 better by default but with little TLC win10 doesn't even have anything win7 doesn't anymore.
I've heard Linux is good but when you've been with an OS for over 30 years it's impossible to move to a new OS and from what I've heard Linux is a bit more user unfriendly than Windows. Also that each version has it's own split personality disorder lol.1 -
Another alternative is to consider upgrading your operating system to a more recent version, such as Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 fall guys, which are fully supported by Discord.

Ibrahim Krajcik Downgrading my OS seems like a drastic solution just to get a single messenger to work. I wouldn't even consider that to be a last resort as it would probably be safer and smarter to move to a different messenger rather than downgrade your OS.

Sin Shadow Fox you are talking to a bot. SEO bots post ai responses to posts or repeat something someone already said and link to a site, that way if a search engine like google indexes this site they will see “oh, so many people talk about that site, ir must be popular. Lets rank it higher”.
As discord doesn't moderate the feedback form those bots can freely spam everywhere without any issues.
