New UI needs accessibility features added
The new UI update has made a lot of features smaller, and this poses some issues for people with visual impairment, and even issues for those with no visual impairment.
My main concerns include the size of the “person is typing…” text below the message box being incredibly small now, and the size of server icons. I believe that adding in an accessibility feature to increase the size of these features would be beneficial to all users. I have read feedback about the UI changes both on social media and in community servers that I am in, and the vast majority have issues with the above mentioned changes. Linked here is a screenshot showing the size comparison between regular scaled text and the “person is typing…” text after the UI change: https://imgur.com/a/uI6ETs9
A possible solution to the smaller “person is typing…” text: since the icons at the end of the message box (Nitro, GIFs. Stickers, Emotes, Apps and Games) have also been shrunk with the UI update, making the message box narrower vertically would allow more space below it for larger “person is typing…” text for those who choose to increase its size (assuming a feature to do that is implemented).
Another small nitpick is shown in the above linked screenshot: the spacing between the most recent message sent and the message box is narrower than the space between other messages sent. While this is less urgent of an issue than UI features being smaller, I did also want to bring this up.
