Maybe happen once discord take over by Microsoft which currently in talk?
I'm using discord for business as most customers are on discord already.
It is more convenient than using Microsoft Team or Skype for me.
I'm loving it.

Just bumping this topic.
I personally run a business based around ROBLOX which requires me to be in different servers for each specialised group. We have over 400,000 members in those groups & around 24k members on discord so it's pretty serious.
That alone already takes about 31 out of 100 slots.
Not to mention I obviously am in servers myself for things that interest me including but not limited to Different programming languages, my own other projects, other utility servers for discord bots and way more.
I don't think there's a reason not to increase the limit? Hell, you can even make it a Nitro-only thing if it costs too much resources on your end to allow such an increase.

has their been any reason given for the server limit? all i see is people saying you dont need to be in more servers and its extremely annoying.
i'd like to know if it's a matter of some sort of limitation (which sounds silly, but i can understand)1 -
I would assume limitation is to limit server-side capacity kind of thing. (as how discord works for networking??) and also fee to operate servers. so maybe need to work on to make it possible?
(like everyone/here mention is costing too much performance sometimes...)

I just don't understand why there a limit in the first place.
Simple. That allows them to precalculate their cloud storage bills.

Any update on this one? The biggest blocker right now is performance on the client, fewer servers make the desktop app noticeably faster but this can definitely be worked on.

I've been on Discord for almost 5 years, and the limit was reached fast even though back then most of it was unimportant servers.
It has been just about 8 months & 22 days since a change log appeared with this message:
"No, we're not going to raise the limit...yet."
For me, it feels like much longer, because of how long I've been at the limit & I'm really just waiting every single day for it to raise as there are many more servers I would like to join, it feels like it's at least been twice as long ago this message was given. I'm starting to get to a point where every server I'm in really are important for me to be in, whether that being QA Tester, Translator, Programmer, Admin or just servers I'm actually active in as a simple member etc. The limit has been promised to be increased, but by how much & when we don't know. I remember being the crazy one for being in 100 servers, but now I find it common that people mention the annoying limit, we would all like an update on where Discord is with this.3 -

Wow... look at the Discord sub-reddit (r/discordapp). Not only are they bringing 200 servers but they've done other massive changes.... Going to keep it on-topic and only speak about the server limit increase.Thinking more about the change, I feel like giving this option to Nitro servers is justified as of course they need to make money. Especially since I can only imagine servers will be hit harder with more heartbeats/connections to up to 200 servers per user

It is understandable that they are increasing server limit only for Nitro users because of the resources it take to reach this limit just feel kinda unfair for non Nitro user.

If when I switched to Discord Nitro, I enter 50 servers more than normal (so 150), when my subscription ends, I have 150 servers left, or I am kicked out of all 50 servers I entered and they go back to only 100 ?

It is already up to 200 servers for nitro.
No point adding more for while.

I find this limitation very pointless. It's always a problem for people who are into cryptocurrencies. I subscribed to Discord Nitro, it was still not enough. I cannot extend the subscription any longer.
