Hi Discord Team and dear reader!

 

This would be a feature request for Message Threads, like we can see on Slack.

 

As a matter of fact, when sending messages in a crowded channel (+15ppl) conversations can easily get lost in the mix. Message threads solve this issue by creating a "sub-channel" on the message that initiated the thread, allowing participants to continue their conversation without spamming the main channel and allowing other users to do the same.

    Now, after i think a little, maybe this is not bad option. For example, on slack u dont have easy acces to all threads that u r involved, and with this option on discord u see all. Maybe only option to be able to collaps threads, like u can collaps category

    worked for me, not completely functional but it's nice to be able to view this new feature before everybody else! :)

    VivaLaRobo Enable in Server settings "communities" or wait August 17th, 2021, Threads will be enabled for all.

    Threads FAQ says:

    Note:
    - We’re initially rolling out *Threads* to about 10% of servers on Discord, while we monitor performance, but hope to get to 100% by the end of the week.

    Am I the only one a bit dissapointed of how it was rolled out?
    I expected evergreen threads and not temporal ones. I want the messages to be available to everyone, anytime, not only for 24 hs or a couple of weeks :(

    jjamesss old threads don’t get deleted, just archived, and you can unarchive them at any time.

    Dear Discord,
    Why we can't start a thread in private conversation? Why just in channels?
    Please allow us to start threads in PMs!

    Sweet! I got threads! Thanks Discord.

    Requiring a title is a bit cumbersome. Although, titles make finding the thread (as a sub-channel) easier.
