Allow m4a audio embeds
---EDIT 2021-07-10T05:44:44+00:00---
This feature has been added in the latest version of Discord.
Stable 89700 (fcd6bbc)
Host 1.0.9002
Windows 10 64-Bit (10.0.19042)
---END EDIT---
Currenly Discord shows the player controls for mp3 files only. It would be great if Discord could allow embeded player controls for other audio file types, such as m4a.
Thank you.

I would greatly appreciate it if .opus and .aac are also supported

+ still needed

m4a being an MP4 audio container, it's baffling that this isn't already available, and continues to frustrate me when I attempt to post new songs in music channels, only for them to be ignored because they won't embed.

Yeah seeing as many phone's use m4a as default for recording it would be much more convenient to not have to convert to mp3 every time you upload a recording.

If you change the file name from xx.m4a to xx.mp3 it actually plays normally.1 -
@koko On iOS devices, there is no way to rename a file's extension - it only allows you to modify the part before the period.

Got this to work for a *.aac file extension rename to *.mp3 as well (on desktop app on Windows). Clearly the internal player supports multiple file types. How do we get them to turn it on for more than just MP3s?

This is still a problem today post-apocalypse, and even though I assume this would be trivially easy to fix, I still have rely on koko's band-aid to send .m4a and .aac audio.
