Update for Ubuntu app is not working

Got a message when I launched Discord this morning about a new update.

I tried to install it but it seems it is not working. I can install it without any issue but when I relaunch the app, I got the same message.
I tried several methods: installing directly, downloading the update and then installing it, removing the app and then reinstalling it: Nothing has worked.
I'm stuck in that loop.

    I feel your pain. Welcome to the Discord Linux update loop nightmare.

    I started a thread in Other  'Linux update not latest'

    I use Ubuntu 18.04 also

    What Discord has available to download is the same version (vers 7) we have been using and the update is vers 8.

    Linux users cannot update to new version if the downloads of the new update are not available.
