Tapping a username or mention on mobile should display a menu similar to PC
At least in Android, tapping someone's username (including yourself) will mention them in chat, and tapping on a ping will open a DM instead. I'm not a big fan of either option since there usually isn't a need to do either, and you might accidentally tap on them and have to erase it.
Instead, short-tapping someone's name or ping should open a menu that displays the user's roles and has options to view their profile, send them a message, add reactions, or mention them (so you can still mention them easily). This would also be more similar to Slack mobile, where tapping a username simply displays their profile information.
Long-pressing would remain the same as it is now, and display moderation actions such as banning, muting from voice chat, or changing roles.

Hm, I'd definitely like this feature in iOS as well!
Also, regarding to what you said about the long tap, I think both menus should should be combined instead, and possibly a long tap's fictionality can be set in settings (to mention, direct message et cetera). After a short tap, at first you will reach an (possibly almost) full-screen profile section (similar to the way it is on Discord's Android version) with the ‘mention’, ‘profile’ and ‘message’ buttons. Within the spoken of profile card, scrolling down will get you to the administration section, where you can kick, ban etc.P.S: if this needs to be an entirely different suggestion/post, please let me know!

Only Discord pastes the name instead of bringing up a profile of sorts. To me, it feels inconsistent with Discord on desktop, but also with how other chat apps work. Of course, to prevent this change from being forced onto everyone, I'd argue it should be an option.
