Temporarily Mute Channels or Servers

It can be handy to mute a usually inactive channel for a little while (e.g., 24 hours). There are lots of times in all sorts of servers (general public servers, private/friend servers, streamer/content specific, etc) where certain channels suddenly have a lot of activity that just doesn't matter to you at that moment, even though the channel itself has enough interesting content or discussion to make you want to have it unmuted. The problem with just muting the channel or server and unmuting it later is that you might forget to unmute it in a timely manner and, by virtue of not having any notifications/unread indicators drawing your attention to it, you might miss out on content or discussion that you would otherwise find relevant. (Also it's just nice to let the computer do something for you automatically, which is one of the primary advantages of computers in general.)

    TOTALLY agreed! Sometimes other people on the server are having an extended conversation, so you just get flooded with notifications that have nothing to do with you. It's really annoying, and right now the only solution is to mute the channel and try to remember to unmute it later. (Spoiler: half the time I forget to unmute it.) It would be great to mute a channel or server for X hours, especially since it's a standard feature in other chat apps like Slack and Facebook messenger.

    This is great, but I'd really like to have longer-term options. Let me mute channels for a week or a month, if the current conversations in there are uninteresting to me but I want to check back on it at some point.
