discord bot token 2FA feature should be implemented

So as a bot owner, my bot tokens have been hacked before and devastating effects took place on my bot. I would like to add a 2FA feature that people with 2FA on thier account can activate so when their bot token detects usage on a different IP, it requests for the 2FA code. This is to help other creators with this.

    Once you click the Enable Two-Factor Auth button, you'll see a new 3 step prompt pop up. To begin the 2FA process, you'll either need to download Google Authenticator or Authy on your mobile device. You can link your phone number to your account to help act as a backup method for obtaining 2FA codes

    Most of the time people get your token because you leaked it somewhere (e.g github repo).

    Be careful where you place your tokens.

    But it still happens. Imagine if Mee6/dyno got hacked and they suddenly know nearly everyone’s info?

    yeah also I think discord has back doors into all discord bots

    Nope. Or they can just make their bot token longer and harder to guess

    Github repo was an example, now discord detects if your token was found somewhere in a repo and tells you about it.

    Most of the time when a bot gets compromised it's most likely the developers fault.

    Mate, I was online on discord when my bot suddenly crashed and did abnormal activity. I did not receive anything about my bot token being breached apart from the bot just suddenly crashing

    You missed my point, nearly all bots that have gotten compromised so far were because of accidentally leaked tokens.

    The low chance that it isn't would be because somones gotten access to your account.

     

    Each user account also has a token too.

    Just don't download random executable files from any of the Discord users. They might steal your account token.
