Discord on linux randomly segmentation faults during voice calls

This has been happening since April.

Whenever I voice call via the discord app on linux, it segfaults on average about once every 25 minutes.

I notice the CPU usage spikes up whenever I'm talking, maybe that's related.

    This has also been driving many of us to madness since early last year. It is interrupting voice calls and streams, and affects both Stable release (Stable 73806 (0c3eadc) Host 0.0.13) as well as the latest Canary release as well.

    I have heard that there was something being worked on with possible patches, because libappindicator3 was a neglected library, however I would like to ask discord to be proactive on this. We need help with remediating this issue, and perhaps you can consider helping the community fix this library?

    I'm having this exact same issue. Discord developers need to step up their game.

    I should mention that elementary OS finally upgraded to (Odin) version 6, and this issue has finally resolved itself for me. The core of this new os is built on Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS, (up from 18.04.3) so some critical component related to these crashes has changed in my OS. The slowdown and freezing issues might also be resolved. Haven't noticed it in a while actually, which is a step in the right direction.
    (My current Discord build: Stable 96766 (dab7aeb) Host 0.0.15 Linux 64-Bit (5.11.0-34-Generic))
    EDIT: a quick search of my HDD of "libappindicator3" turned up copies in the directory:   /home/{user}/.local/share/flatpak/app/com.discordapp.Discord/x86_64/stable/{xxxxx}/files/lib
    Interesting!
    What other black magic has discord worked, lol.
