Hide links to GIFs or IMGs while still keeping the preview

The new system of hiding URLs to GIFs is great, but it only works when the URL is completely on its own without any additional text. I propose the idea of hiding the link, while still showing the GIF/IMG, by using brackets around the link; such as {URL HERE}, for example.
