Actions (/me) on discord is not working, giving weird message additions

This is what it looks like when I try to use a /me message. Not only does it give me these unnecessary additions, but then the screen shakes and refuses to send the /me action at all. I have to use *message* like on mobile for it to work. This happened out of the blue with no changes made on my part, is this caused by an update, or did I do something accidentally? How do I fix it?
