[Feature Request] - Voice Mail!
I have seen people request voice mail before, but allow me to actually plead the case for it with a description of how to implement it with no long-term cost/overhead to your team/service, and providing just as professional and "real" a phone experience as a mobile can provide.
- User's voice mail greeting would just be stored as an MP3/OGG locally.
- User would be able to set conditions for voice mail such as automatically forwarding to voice mail when they're away/invisible/do not disturb/already in another call. Also, specify "forward to voice mail after X rings".
- Upon being called, callee's client would silently answer the call. No UI would be invoked, and the microphone and camera would not be accessed on the callee's client. The greeting would play through their audio channel in stead. Following this and a beep, the caller would be given up to 30 seconds to speak. This would save as an MP3/OGG on the callee's harddrive.
- Users may specify how long a message may be.
- Users may specify a limit to number of messages before their inbox is full.
Basically, this would duplicate mobile voice mail, while utilizing the existing VoIP and file storage to bring no additional overhead to Discord's infrastructure nor any compromises of privacy nor security in any way.
