Embed .mov files

Ever since the new iOS 14 update, they've changed the video files from .mp4 to .mov. Whenever I try and post a screen record, it comes up as a downloadable video and not an embedded video to watch without downloading the file. Can we please have a fix?

    I send the video to myself through iMessage and then save it to my camera roll and then it works.

    Yeah this is happening to me as well, it seems like there's no fix as of yet :(

    Okay today I screen recorded a clip and trimmed it fine. Sent it and it embedded! What was the difference maker? I didn’t crop the video! Normally I crop out the black bars or whatever else I don’t want in frame.

    I guess that’s an okay workaround but it still needs fixing and, at this point, who knows if it’s going to be a fix on the discord side or the apple side.

    PSA: ios's refund policy is extremely lenient, and I refuse to pay for a service that only works half the time. As such, I've been refunding my $10 a month nitro costs for over a year. Until they fix their service, I won't be paying a dime.

    why must we put up with this

    i dont even have a pc/laptop, just an ipad.
    feels really annoying that its probs not even going to be fixed
    ive spent almost a month to find a workaround but no luck and a few viruses (now gone thankfully)

    9 months discord is still slacking bruh I don’t wait a minute with these servers to upload a 10 mb video then only for it to be a .mov file that isnt even embedded

    you can use for example Split on the appstore, use it as a middleman. choose the .mov file and export it. it’s still remains a .mov file but somehow discord embeds it.

    I have a fix, use the apple share button on the video, select options and send as individual video
