Pattern Recognition for Fraud Detection

As a long time user of discord, i have discovered many scams, a lot of which is similar to each other using the same pattern and also the same text concept.

 

Therefore I would suggest discord to add a function that will detect string keywords like "Giveaway" or "You have won..." if the functions returned true then this will result in some kind of warning message, this can be even less intrusive if you only want to check this on a none friend first message (If this is the first message sent from a none friend user).

 

This security can even be more maximized in the following steps:

  • did the user send the message to multiple victims (at a specific time range)?
  • Does the message contain suspicious links with suspicious keywords?
  • Are there any reports filed against the same user?
  • Is it a new user?

This will lead to a low "Trust Factor" which will result in a warning message.

    idk if this counts as fraud detection but some kids keep trying to dox me, and find my parent's numbers and stuff like that. I blocked them both but idk what else to do...

    Imagine a situation when a young kid will have to react to such things or even an inexperienced adult! will he even be aware of that kind of danger? surely some fall to it, vote it up help fix whats later to come...
