  Discord is not a game, it's a communication platform.

  I'm sorry that your or your friend's kids are playing games instead of studying, but Discord is no more of a gaming platform than Facebook or AIM (AOL Instant Messenger, from back in the '90s).

  If you are looking to set better, healthy boundaries, consider picking up a book or podcast on ways to set boundaries. Otherwise, the same concept was presented before the Internet - kids were reading story books, running around in the yard with sticks, playing in the mud, playing with toys instead of doing their schoolwork.
