Suggestion - Hide friends to clean inbox and friends list

I have over 100 friends, 50% of which I don't talk to but I want to have them added. A feature to hide friends from your friends list to clean your list so you can see whether the people that matter are online. Alternatively another solution could be another tab on the friends page called priority or something similar to show if a selection of people are online.
