Reply Use Case: different channel

With the new reply system, this Use Case became even more difficult.

What the user wants to do

Sometimes, conversations change topic and a user wants to change channel accordingly. The most striking example of this would be newcomers starting to talk in the wrong channel. By quoting the last message of the conversation in the new channel, this is solved elegantly.

Further, moderators may want to quote posts from various channels within the #moderator channel. The new reply feature would fit this particular purpose perfectly, except it does not work across channels.

How the user does it

In the old "Quote" system, it was entirely possible to quote a message, then copy the quote (Select All / Ctrl+A;  Copy / Ctrl+C) then paste the quote in a different channel. This was somewhat quick.

In the new system, the best one can do is emulate the old system by copying the quoted message and manually adding > formatting, which is more effort to the user. This is fairly slow and in my experience people have already begun regressing to "just a ping".

    A similar use case to the two aforementioned has been brought to my attention: Citing the #rules

    Any user may want to cite a rule, announcement, etc. from a channel they have no permission to post in.

    I would love to see this feature- a server I moderate has both a high volume of completely-new-to-discord users who get easily confused about which channel to post in, and quick conversations that move fast and change topics quickly. Being able to reply to a message in a different channel would be amazing.

    I would also love to have this ability both on my server that I own as a moderator, but also on other servers, to point new members to the correct channels
