Reply Feature - Disable pinging the original author by default
Hi there,
basically what the title says. It would be lovely if pinging the original author with a reply would default to off.
Most of the time, when using the reply feature, the user is active in the chat, so there's no need to send a ping as it's annoying and disturbing.

I agree. Some people don't like being pinged, and I don't like having to turn it off whenever I want to reply to a specific message in a channel.

I agree entirely. Not everyone likes to be pinged, and sometimes it's easy to forget to toggle it off

I don't even really understand why it's always on by default to begin with, I don't see the benefit in that, there's only negatives to making you ping someone every time you want to reply

Reviving this, it's still relevant.
Set ping to off by default AND add a user/server setting to toggle which state is default!0 -
Please make this the default behavior. Better yet, make it something that can be enabled or disabled on a per person bases.

Reviving this, I would extremely like this feature implemented, as it's begun to become an issue with some friends of mine, and has caused many of them to leave servers
