Voice settings for playing a musical instrument on calls and in voice channels
I work for a music school that has started using discord so that our little community of young violin students can stay in touch and interact with each other now that everything has gone remote. Discord is nearly a dream for this, as most of the kids already have an account and a positive association with the app for being fun and relevant to them. HOWEVER, the voice settings for all users need such extreme tweaking for being able to play their instruments in calls and voice channels. Discord's design blocks out the instrument as they play, or makes it so an instructor or other kid cannot talk over the playing or play simulaneously. We're figuring out how to override these automatic settings but it'd be incredible to just flip a single switch that creates the necessary environment for talking over other sounds and playing music.
This is definitely a feature for which we'd be willing to pay!

This music teacher seconds that opinion. Zoom has nearly perfected the music-transmission part of virtual interaction with features like "original sound" and "high fidelity music mode" and "stereo audio". But it lacks many of the community-building features of Discord. I'd gladly switch to and pay for Discord if they fixed this.
