Copy and Pasting Crash Discord
Whenever I copy and paste a link or anything a medium length into a chat my discord crashes, this is new. Only started today, i have video proof as seen on the google drive link. Ill try re installing later so far i have rebooted my pc though

I figured out how to crash it...
Have the discord message bar get wider, so write to the limit of one space, and when it widens to allow more words to be put in, it crashes...2 -

I've had the problem for the last day or two also. I thought it might be because I had themes installed, but I removed them and it's still happening.

same issue here, haven't found a fix yet, hopefully, it gets addressed soon since it's constant.

open your BandagedBD installer (if you have Better DIscord) and click on repair, it'll fix the issue

Sup again, I found a solution. If you enter settings then you click on Text & Images you have to scroll down and you have to disable the "Preview emojis, mentions, and markdown syntax as you type" option. That's a temporary solution until hopefully discord fix it.

I had this problem. If you guys are using the browser version of Discord, (like I was), then it for some reason my paste didn't work. Once I downloaded discord instead of using the browser version, it started working. Hope this helps.

The same is happening to me. I am trying to show my friend my laptop with a link and when I paste it I crash.
Can confirm it's still happening
Any Discord admins please help.

what you can do to fix it is go to user settings(the cog next to your name) >text & images> scroll down to see "preview emojis, mentions, and markdown syntax as you type"> turn it off and it will stop crashing
(this is a temporary fix but hopefully it will be fixed very soon)

man same here every time i copy paste my discord crashes its very annoying

To everyone here - this issue is caused by Client Mods (which are against Discord's ToS anyways). Uninstall your client mods as the issue is rarely reproduced on vanilla Discord
Also, this is a Suggestion and Feedback page, not a Support Page lol

Guys, go to the settings, "Text & Images" go down and uncheck "Preview emojis, mentions, and Markdown syntax as you type beta" And now it works. You're welcome <3
