Need an ultra basic Nitro option for emotes only

I really don't need the various perks of even the more basic form of Nitro and would love to be able to pay $1 or $2 per month for a version that simply allows me to use custom emotes globally and nothing else.

Basically, I have a handful of custom emotes on my private server (which is only me and a few friends) and really want to be able to use them in DMs and on the 3 other small servers that I'm part of.

I don't need anything else so there's no reason for me to buy the $5 per month subscription. But I would be very willing to pay $20 or so per year for the ability to simply use my own emotes and I know that many other people feel the same.

It would be wonderful if Discord could make this an option.

    Discord needs to make money, having a 1$ plan that includes the biggest benefit to Nitro wouldn't make much sense for Discord to do.

    I wasn't aware that a handful of emotes were the biggest benefit to Nitro. I thought it offered a lot of other stuff related to gaming and streaming, which is why they charge so much for it. I really don't use Discord for anything except small group chats on a couple of servers and a few DMs so I don't know much about Nitro but I figured there was a lot more to it than emotes...

    There is a lot more, but the number one selling point is people wanting to use emojis globally. I would say the majority of users who buy nitro classic do so, so that they can use custom emojis everywhere. It is quite literally the most popular thing. Maybe it isn't the "biggest benefit" but it is easily the most popular one.

    Thanks, I see. I didn't realize that. $5/month for emotes seems pretty steep to me but I guess that's not going to change then :-)

    You can get your own domain name for $5/month or less. Charging that much strictly for chat emotes seems excessive to me, that's all. No need to be rude about it. Someone doesn't have to be broke to want to spend their money on more useful things. And for that matter, what about people who are broke? Why insult them just because they can't pay $5 a month for a handful of emotes? Not sure why you're chiming in just to be obnoxious. The conversation is over anyway. I didn't realize that basic Nitro was already primarily for emotes and now I understand that it is. Done. Move on.

    Nitro does need a lower tier just for emotes, I have no use for any of the other features and can't justify the cost of the 5$ tier even if I can afford it.
