New chat causing scroll down when scroll up to view old messages on android

New chat trouble me everytime i scroll up to see old messages its return back scroll down to newest chat, so i cannot resume activity but have to scroll up from new again

    This is super annoying. How am I supposed to meme hunt to feed my friends when it keeps sending me to the bottom of the chat every time I scroll up?
