UI Revamp
So since my last post got deleted after 7 months of no word from the Discord team... here goes again.
---------------------
My account was recently disabled for using a third-party client. I agreed to only use the official app, because I do want to keep my account. But now I'm facing some basic usability issues.
The very reason I was using it was because I can't (yet?) do this with the official Discord app:

I normally have multiple conversations in multiple servers at the same time. The screencap has three different servers open, and DM's. Each window has tabs, which let me switch channels quickly if needed.
The official Discord client works for having one or two chats, but there is no functionality to split windows, hide the left-side bars, or pin channels as 'favorites'. This means that every time I want to follow 4-5 conversations at the same time, I'm limited to manually switching between servers and channels, rather than being able to just see-and-respond.
Skype, AIM, XFire and other communications apps have had this basic functionality since their inception in the late 90's/ early 00's. For an app that has its own dedicated monitor... this isn't really acceptable.
So here's my feature requests, to make that possible:
- Window splitting. This is primary, so that we're able to see multiple chats at the same time, and re-arrange them between various layouts/ workspaces/ monitors.
- Being able to hide or collapse the left sidebar. Currently, it has a static size, and when making the discord window 1/3rd of the width of the screen, it takes up no less than half of Discord's allocated screen-space.
- Favorites/ tabs - something to help switching between channels in each window to ones which are manually set by the user.
Thanks!

Now, can we *please* get this fixed? The state of the UI is absolutely unacceptable right now. It's been almost 8 months since I originally posted this, and we haven't even heard a "no, we won't do that" from the developers.
