New Update needs to be reverted

I completely agree that the new update looks awful. Not only that but it doesn't perform well at all. It's an absolute mess and having it act like there are three different tabs sitting side by side makes it so the app is consistently freaking out while you try to type because it thinks you're swiping. The bar added to the bottom of the screen is huge and wasn't needed whatsoever. All of the functions this new random bar provides were already easy to get to. The screen jumps around so much now because that bar has to disappear if you click this but if you slide that these have to come out and then you clicked this so now it has to load this chat, it's a mess! All of the motion makes me feel physically ill. It's jarring and no longer user friendly. I don't understand why they keep changing around things cosmetically that don't need to be changed. I'm really fed up with it as well as them not doing anything to address complaints or fix these issues. I'm about ready to try and find another app which is saying something because I've been using Discord for years. It's really unfortunate because this used to be such a great app. Something really needs to be done to address this.

As someone with ADHD the new design is genuinely giving me a headache. I am very slow to process UI's in the first place, and this has made it even harder to comfortably switch between DM's and different conversations. If nothing else, please make the sidebars the things that move, not the text window. I have also been having performance issues to the jittering and lag that happens every time I open my sidebar makes it impossible to focus. From an accessibility standpoint this is abhorrent and I will be try to get all my friends to use a different app if this isn't changed soon.
I second every point that has been made in this thread, and I hope there is some SERIOUS rethinking in terms of the design of the mobile app. Changes for the sake of things being "cool" or "unique" have clearly been made without consideration for readability or a users EXPERIENCE whilst navigating this system.
Please revert this update ASAP.
EDIT: This thread seems to be in the wrong category. I assume a mod can move it? It is very clear we are all talking about the mobile app here, I hope. I am on Android and just received the update this morning.31 -
I totally agree. I was used to the small bar at the bottom showing your pfp and when clicked granting immediately access to the status option (online, etc.)
The new interface looks weird and it really bugs me that you're just sliding the things around instead of "pulling" them from, for example, the right side whenever you're in servers.
I personally prefer that you have to go through multiple tabs to get to the thing you want to do, for example adding friends or something. The new sliding method is surely easy, but aesthetically really unpleasing and just weird to look at. It's also really weird that the interface seems smaller and just kind of plump, it's also lagging more often.
I noticed that sometimes when you're in a chatroom the names aren't getting shown, the pfp is blue and the name is just "Tag" with no text below it16 -
Strongly agree. The old UI was much better. Having the channels/DMs at the side constantly was so much better. Discord, just please, revert it back

I strongly agree!! I am having HUGE issues navigating to where I need to go, it's difficult going into a text channel without it immediately bringing up my keyboard... I already had issues with the mobile app, but this new update makes it nearly unusable for me.
I don't think they took into account people with disabilities that make it really, really nauseating to wrap their head around the new UI. A fix to revert it back would be appreciated by many, or at least an option to change it.

Strongly agree as well. The new UI does make things seem messier then normal, and makes discord less appealing for use. This is especially the case on tablets. Which had no need for this update as there is plentyies of room oj the screen already. Perhaps there can be a setting to choose between the old or new UI?

Agree fully with everything here! And i can't tell if it's a bug or something because it came with the new update but in portrait sharing screen and videos are zoomed all the way to fit to the width unless you rotate and the green circle that comes up when you talk is now an oval?? what is happening

I think both this category and mobile need representation in this issue. The general public hates it, and the new UI is bad for mental disabilities.

No, it makes it easier for people to use who don't have a keyboard to do everything they want to having gui is something important for people who can't really use keyboards all the time. That being said tho they still haven't added a "send" button so I don't know whats the point
