Hide self view in video call
So for example when I'm in a video call and I have the video feed on pop-up mode, I'd like to be able to see the person's feed without seeing my own camera feed in the corner.
- I want to hide my camera feed from myself without disabling my camera
So far, I've found no way to actually hide my own camera feed in a video call besides showing members and then dragging the window past the edge of the screen, but that's a bit hacky and also kind of an edge fix. I'd like to be able to move the window around.

i came here because im currently facing a bug where my video is disabled, but like all the time and i do admit liking to look at myself from time to time. and since i cant enable my own video im stuck with this bug (I already tried reinstalling and everything). Please Discord let me look at myself again. +1

May this forever be bumped until the feature exists. I also multitask and the smaller I can make the camera, the better. Tired of seeing my spaced out face on top of the person I'm actually trying to see, and having to move the window around a million times because I can't make it small enough without covering them is a constant problem.
(Best workaround I've got so far for those out there in similar shoes, is to actually have it on grid view and have the window tall instead of wide and shove yourself past the screen. Hope this helps someone.)4 -

Oh that would be the best! It's so distracting to have a window of yourself when you're trying to pay attention to whatever is going on. Especially if you have discord not fullscreen.

Yes! Please make the "Disable Video" option available for our own cameras. I want to still have my camera on so other people can see my reactions, but I don't need to see myself all the time.

Hi everyone, just wanted to say that I found a way to do this! It's a bit of a hacky kinda way but it works.
If when you have the discord popout on ur screen, you hold and drag your little webcam view out of the window so it disappears off the window, then when you let go, click again really quickly, it will stay in the position (off-screen). It takes some practice but it works for me! I'm able to get it so that it's like 99% off.

+1 for this, especially since with the recent updates you can hide other people's video feeds (I think it was the recent update, but if it just let you do this for yourself too problem solved!)

Also heavy in support for this. Looking at myself while on call is very distracting to me and I know for a fact that those I video call with find it anxiety inducing to have to see themselves in call and makes them rather not video call at all.
Also the screenshare solution is a workaround at best, tried it, you can't minimize the window. And since you can disable video for others in a call without them having to turn off their video it should be easy enough to implement to have that for yourself.

Coming back to comment on this again… I was so excited when I read the update said improvements to group video calls. I tested it out straight away and can’t believe they STILL haven’t implemented this?!?! It’s such a fundamental feature on literally every other platform you can use for calls that I can think of. I so badly want to be able to use Discord for video calls because everything else about it is better. But this one issue still trumps all the benefits of using Discord for me!!

I think those with social media, namely Twitter, need to send some tweets to discord to get some attention. It really feels like they don't look at these threads.

Honestly don’t understand why the grid view is such a pain to use. Please let us show/hide video. It completely kills the experience for us. Came here just to leave a comment.

It's good initially to be able to check your camera and setup, but once that is done your own view is simply distracting3 -

Couldn't believe there wasn't an option to do this in Discord already... we need this feature! I am distracted by myself in calls and meetings... makes me self-conscious, looking at myself talking more than I am the people I talk to.
Can we please get this feature?
