Could the limit be placed on the number of active video streams rather than the number of people in the channel? For example, an online class of 50 students where only a handful of people (e.g., instructor and TA's) have their videos on at one time.

Yes! I'm also a teacher, I teach music in a University, I need my students to see both my cameras (my hands on piano and myself), and I need to seee their reactions. And, during pandemic isolation, they are always more than 25.

Yes! We use Discord as a community server for our studio and that would be great to build bigger communities

This is also an essential feature for us. I'm trying to bring a community of about 200 members onto a discord server which is currently using a whatsapp/zoom combination. Discord would bring so much value to the community, but the fact that only 25 people can join a chat where only one (1) user activates his camera is ridiculous. Even when 25 people really would activate the camera, there should be still people be able to join the chat (even if they don't are able to activate the camera then).
This can also be a paid service, we would not mind, but without this service discord's voice/video-chat feature is sadly not usable for our community.
The fact that this is not implemented yet - after three years - I do have not much hope that it will be done in the next three.. But maybe an angel is hearing my words ;)
