Limit notification sound

Whenever someone sends multiple messages in discord you get a ding for each message. So if you leave a server unmuted and people are having a conversation you get a ding for each message. Now i love that we have the option to mute a server or channel for 10 minutes, but doing this every time people start a conversation is fairly annoying. Better, but annoying

Almost all chat apps only send a ding or make a sound every so often. So when people have a conversation you get 1 ding and then maybe after 5 minutes another one. That way you dont have to even mute the conversation. I would really love to see this option in discord as its basically impossible to not mute a conversation, and since discord also makes a sound when you dont have it focused but open on another screen you basically need to mute conversations or set your status to busy.

    I agree with this. I would go one step further and just have one sound per chat/channel. If I didn't hear it, I am probably afk and will check Discord when I am back anyways. I don't need to be constantly notified of each new message in each chat while I am engaged in a different conversation or working on something the side.
