Discord is laggy once I open settings / Discord doesn't like Voicemeeter
Hello,
I've been having a problem for the past few weeks with discord being extremely laggy and not responding a lot. I've reinstalled it multiple times, reset my settings, switched on and off hardware acceleration, and clearing cache but nothing seems to be working. It usually occurs when I have to change my settings on discord which brings me to my second problem. Discord does not work with Voicemeeter Aux Output or any output from Voicemeeter in general and makes my mic sound very buzzy and distorted. I know this is not a problem with Voicemeeter because it works with every other software. I constantly have to keep changing mics on discord which makes it a pain because after that discord crashes or is super slow. If anyone has a fix to this or is also experiencing the same thing, please contact me.

I'm also able to confirm this problem. For now, the best possible workaround I've found is to use the browser app for Discord instead of the Windows app. No buzzy, crackly sound in there at all.
This didn't even seem to be a problem until a couple of months ago. This is very inconvenient as all of my audio passes through Voicemeeter Potato right now.
No other software has this issue.0 -
You are not alone. This probably started with the 2004 update of Windows 10. Discord support just says that Voicemeeter is not supported and that's that for them.

I have finally found a solution to this.
You have to go into the control panel. Then search up "Sound". Click the first one. Now you should see another window pop up. Click the Recording tab and find your voicemeeter output. Right-click it and then click Properties. Now click Advanced and change Default Format to "2 channel, 16 bit, 4800 Hz (DVD Quality)".
I hope this helped you!
