My Discord Server slowmode isn't working.

So recently I had a lot of people join my Discord server, and it soon turned out that the slowmode wasn't having any effect on the channel I set it to at all. There were people spamming and even when the slowmode was on it wouldn't prevent them from sending messages so quickly. I don't know why, and even after re-assigning roles it STILL WOULDN'T WORK!!!!

  if people have the “manage messages” permission they will be able to bypass slowmode. additionally, if you are still having this issue, i recommend contacting support over at https://dis.gd/support.
