Discord Support Needs A lot of Work.
A week ago my main discord account got compromised, I've been using discord since 2015 and this was the first time it ever happened to me. Whoever was compromising me had access to both my email and discord. I was lucky I had 2FA on my email so he couldn't change my email accounts password, but he beat me to my discord account by setting up 2FA on it once he got a hold of the account. After he locked me out of my account he proceeded to buy about 2 of the $99.99 and 5 of the $9.99 discord nitro boost gifts , so in a panic I disabled my PayPal account. I also had a card linked to my account, so when he saw the PayPal was disabled he started charging using my debit card (which I also called to put a block on).
Just then, my friends started messaging me asking me if I was on my account cause the person that stole the account started messaging everyone on my servers/friend's list trying to get them to download a malicious software in disguise of a game. He was able to victimize one of my friends and once he saw he couldn't squeeze anymore money or fool anyone else he started to delete all the servers I created, one of them being a server that I've had with my friends since 2015 and had so many memories.
I was trying to reach out to discord support so that they can at least ban my main account so that he could stop trying to fool my friends, but all I got were automated responses. When I finally got an agent to respond they didn't had no solution but to tell me that it was impossible for a hacker to get into a discord account unless they had access to both email and discord account and that's exactly the situation I was in.
I went and I found a few emails that the hacker tried to delete when I recovered my email address. I provided them with the evidence and I never got a reply since. In my bank statement the 2 $99.99 and 5 $9.99 charges stuck. I see that he is still using my main account and he's probably STILL using it to scam more people and discord support is not doing anything about it.
Imagine. You see an account that has been supporting discord since 2015 paying for nitro boost at the 5th of every month. You suddenly see that this account started to buy 2 $99.99 gifts and 5 $9.99 in under 30 minutes and it doesn't raise any red flags at all? Even when someone is emailing discord support informing of the situation, there are still no red flags?
TL:DR. I got hacked and locked out of my discord account and discord support thinks an account buying multiple $99.99 and $9.99 gifts in under 30 minutes isn't suspicious at all.
