Feature Request - Bulk Delete Old Channel Messages
I've run a server for our gaming guild since the early days of Discord so, at this point, there are years worth of old messages throughout the entire server. Throughout that time, the community guidelines for Discord have evolved and we want to continue following those guidelines in our server.
The problem lies with the fact that I honestly don't know how much follows those guidelines from 6 years ago and shy of blowing up the channels and starting fresh, there doesn't seem to be a good way to clear out that old history. This is particularly concerning for some of the nsfw channels.
I think the majority of our users (and the internet at large) would love an easy way to delete old chat history. Most people don't really need to have things that were posted years ago searchable and archived for all time. It would be amazing to give admins a tool to delete everything except for, say the last 6 months or last year worth of messages.
Even if this needed to be run periodically, it would be a huge help for making sure channels were cleaned up occasionally and also to be completely sure community guidelines were followed. Running something like a bot like this on a per-channel basis, automatically or manually, would be amazing. Current chat bots are limited and only able to start with the most recent messages, rather than going back to the oldest ones.
Something to give moderators the option to bulk delete old messages based on time frames, or even a bulk delete in general, would be a game changer and would greatly help moderators and community builders create cleaner and more curated places.
