Sending messages to self
Sending messages to oneself is a feature that's been implemented in many other messaging systems— Gmail, text messaging, Slack— but not Discord, which I feel would be useful to many people for things such as transferring notes and files between devices or just writing down a note to see later.

I created a Group Chat. I'm the only member. Renamed the chat: Note to self.

Seconding this. Yes, there are workarounds, but it would be nice to just click your own name and send messages to yourself. The self-chat could even have some unique features.

I'd like to also request this. When using my computer, Discord is one of the easiest and fastest ways to transfer photographs from iOS devices to my computer. I actually know a significant number of users (double digits) who maintain a "personal server" with only themselves in it, just to send themselves reminders and photos - because Direct Message isn't available to yourself.
There's other beneficial aspects to this as well. If you need to experiment with formatting, or you want to preview how a message will look before sending it, or you're busy working on a long message, and want to store your work temporarily, it'd be helpful to be able to send the message to yourself, so you can later go back and edit it, to continue working on the post.
It's also helpful to send reminders and so on.0
