Ignore feature for users in servers

There have been NUMEROUS posts on this topic and it baffles me that this feature is not on Discord yet. My problem is that there are users in servers that I'm in that post messages in text channels that I simply do not care or want to see. I DO NOT want to BLOCK these users.

There needs to be an option to ignore the messages sent by certain users without blocking them. I still want to sit in voice channels and interact with these people, but I don't want to see the messages they send. The problem with blocking the user is that not only can I no longer hear them, but they aren't on my friend's list, and they can't hear me. That is not what I'm wanting.

I am desperately asking for discord to meet me and the many other users who have requested this option in the middle to provide this option to its users.

I also want to say that I am not talking about muting someone in DM's, I am talking about muting people in the TEXT CHANNELS of Discord Servers.
