[Feedback] New User Server Invite Grief

Love the service, wonderful thing you provide. I just wanted to share my experience with inviting my first time discord user friends.

When a user who has never been on your service before gets a server invite they are taken to a page to sign-in. On this page they are asked to enter a username and then a password. Over the years we have joined hundreds of services so we will assume that we must of joined this one at some time in the past. Do you see where this is going?

The glaring problem here is if the username belongs to someone else, they wont be able to remember a password they never put in. So they go for phone verification, since there isnt one on the account, it asks them to enter theirs.... so they enter their phone number and Discord accepts this as a new number on the account. Bad :-( 

Now they have an account they cannot log into, or if they can, they realise its not theirs, but when they try to create a new one their phone number is now associated to someone else's account and they cannnot remove it.

I invited a number of lifelong friends to a personal discord space using a server invite and nearly all of them fell into this registration trap.  You need to fix this somehow. It's generating a lot of support queries and it makes the new user experience terrible.
