Got hacked. Then disabled and ghosted by discord
Recently I got hacked. Big time. I did not just affect Discord, but every other platform where I failed to activate 2FA. Mind you, I do use different passwords for the different services. I witnessed it first, live, on Discord, where my account sent messages about discord nitro to all my contacts. I tried to work against it by deleting some and respond to those who messaged me afterwards by telling them not to touch the link and that I was hacked.
Did you know that discord isn't even using end-to-end encryption? You agreed to allowing them to see everything send via discord and to let them sell sell-worthy data they can gain from this. So they could totally verify this if they would just put a human person onto my case. Even if they are feeling extra lazy and don't want to do that, I have attached plenty of proof to both of the tickets (17893998 & 17968965). I've sent them, only to get the same copy-paste response that just tells me that I have yet to reach a human person.
I got overwhelmed by the messages sent quickly and couldn't keep up deleting them, so, naturally, Discords algorithm disabled my account fairly quickly. I immediately submitted a ticket. Which got me an automated response that said I would reach Support by answering this, so I did. And I was told that my account will not be re-enabled because I broke ToS. Well yes. My account did break the ToS. I did not deny this, I even confirmed this to you. I told you that I live-witnessed it happening. And that I tried to work against it. But I just don't believe any human being viewed my ticket. So I responded with even more evidence, showed them that Discord was not the only affected platform as well, and I have been ghosted ever since.
In the meantime every other platform resolved the issue and reinstated my accounts. Including Youtube, that has a bad rep for their support itself, managed to get this sorted within 24 hours the moment a human person looked into it. After about a week of complete silence on my case, I submitted a new ticket to discord resulting in the same response, I told them the same story again and attached the same proof again...proof that they don't even need because again, they don't even end-to-end encrypt our messages, they could just look it up themselves and see that I am not lying. They should even be able to see two IDs active at that time. Maybe even two different locations at once. They have this data. They collected it. They just need to check it and see that I am not making shit up. Yet I still provided a plethora of proof myself, but nothing. I started @ing them on Twitter as well, being completely ignored there, too. So I come here...just to find that there are many cases like mine that apparently are also just straight up ignored?? What kind of customer support is this??
I am a twitch streamer. Without discord, I cannot communicate with other twitch streamers for networking, I cannot efficiently contact Klei or fourth floor for whom I am an ambassador for. I am also playing games where guilds/alliances organize themselves via discord. My entire means of communication is gone with that account. And all I hear from Discord? Crickets. I don't expect this post to get to them either, but I'd be damned if I don't at least try. And since I'm adding on to a pile of similar complaints, I just hope Discord gets their heads out of the ground and deal with it a little more professionally and personally.
tl;dr: I got hacked on multiple platforms and had my accounts disabled, discord being one of them, and all but discord resolved the issue within 24 hours. I'm waiting for a response from discord for about a week now.
Fix your support and put some humans in charge of it. Bots and algorithms can only do so much.
