Discord on the verge of integrating Crypto? Horrible idea

Crypto. Is. A. Scam!

The interest in cryptocurrency and NFTs is driven at best by Investment-minded people, and at worst (mostly) by literal criminals and scammers. It doesn't serve any purpose for a healthy internet and definitely doesn't add any value to a service like Discord. We'd be better off if the people behind this service dealt with spammers and scammers instead. I shouldn't even need to mention how insecure a crypto wallet actually is when it actually comes down to it.

Crypto is intensely power-inefficient and predatory. It's a ridiculous waste of resources for a single transaction, and the only people really getting rich off this are the middlemen, brokers, and rug-pullers. Besides all of this, all the companies that have raced to add NFT promos or promise some crypto integration are chasing a bubble.
