literally embarrassing that these posts have to be made in the first place, but here i am to echo every other angry user's sentiments.

i've already cancelled my nitro subscription, as have many of my friends, upon seeing the tweet made by one of discord's devs about cryptocurrency integration. discord started out as a very nice app, i will admit! it was nice to have a place to go after i abandoned skype. it's been harder to keep supporting it in recent months, especially over that atrocious rebranding that had actual negative effects on disabled people.

however this is a whole, newer can of worms that should have stayed closed! im sure you, discord team, are aware of the environmental impact crypto and nfts have, not to mention the fact that its quite literally just a huge scam to begin with. to see you so quietly run surveys through NFT AND CRYPTO SERVERS ONLY with NO input from the rest of your users - the ones you know you would get pushback from! - is so telling about how little you truly care about your userbase. it's insulting and, frankly, embarrassing.

as i have said, ive already cancelled my nitro, and i hope many others will do the same. listen to your userbase, discord team. do not integrate cryptocurrency into discord.
